Although most of my portraits are done using pencil, I am equally at home using watercolour.
My style of painting is very impressionistic with wide brushstrokes gradually building up the
shade and depth of the face.
Painting the elderly is a particular favourite of mine as lines on a face always add
more interest to the final piece.
The pencil work is taken from a good photograph of the person, the more dramatic the pose or
lighting is the better. It creates a more interesting over all final affect.
